Team Spotlight: Meet Lindsey

At The Slate, our property managers aren’t just the behind-the-scenes organizers—they’re the heart of the community. Today, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Lindsey, whose upbeat energy and thoughtful touch make every day at The Slate something special.

Lindsey’s mornings begin with a quick huddle with Cody, our maintenance tech. Together, they map out the day: today’s agenda included replacing a toilet seat and towel bar, plus a final walk-through with touch-up painting and trim work.

From there, it was on to one of Lindsey’s favorite parts of the job—welcoming new residents!  After talking through move-in paperwork in her office, she toured their new home, handed over their keys, garage door opener, and welcome gift, and officially said, “Welcome to the Slate Fam!”

The rest of her day balanced behind-the-scenes organization and community connection:

• Scanning and saving documents to keep things running smoothly.
  
• Renewing leases (even troubleshooting a tech hiccup with Abby, our leasing manager).
  
• Meeting with the Harrisburg bus system team to share maps and help them add new stops for local students.
  
• Planning our upcoming Fall community event—think live music, drinks, and all the good vibes.
  
• Updating residents on work order progress.
  
• Wrapping up the day with a property walk-through to make sure everything looked just right.

It’s a busy schedule, but Lindsey makes it look effortless—always balancing efficiency with genuine care for her residents.

Getting to Know Lindsey

Outside of work, Lindsey is full of personality, passions, and a touch of Husker pride. Here are a few fun things to know about her:

• 💇 Back to the dark side: She recently dyed her hair back to its natural dark shade. Blonde upkeep? “Too much work for this gal!”
  
• 🐾 Dog mom life: Jasper (13 years old, with her since he was a pup) and Chloe (a sweet rescue whose age is still a mystery) keep her days bright.
  
• 🌸 Flower child: Lilies and sunflowers are her favorites—you’ll find them in her tattoos, her office, and her heart.
  
• 🍹 Weekend vibes: She loves grabbing patio drinks with her friends. When she’s feeling fancy, she orders the "Epiphany" cocktail at Crawford's—complete with buzz buttons that tingle your taste buds.
  
• 🏈 Football fan through and through: A Nebraska Cornhusker at heart and a Kansas City Chiefs fan by choice. (Yes, she’s here for the Travis + Taylor buzz too!)
  
• 🍴 Future foodie: While she admits cooking isn’t her favorite, she’s planning to take a cooking class this winter to mix things up.
  
• ❄️ Weather wishes: She’s always wishing for one more month of spring and summer—and two fewer months of South Dakota winter.
